She attended college in Breckenridge, Minnesota taking secretarial classes. She also attended Wahpeton State School of Science. She worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for 1 year before she married and became a housewife.
While in college she attended a Lawrence Welk barn dance. Audrey needed a dance partner so she asked husband to be Laurence D. Neubauer, or “Ole” as everyone called him. Ole was in love at first sight and followed her to Minneapolis and later asked her to marry him. Ole and Audrey were married on November 12, 1950 in Odessa, Minnesota.
Audrey and Ole belonged to a square dancing club and loved to socialize with neighbors and friends. Ole and Audrey moved to Casper, Wyoming and raised their four children.
