Josef Beer, 87, passed away on July 8, 2017 in Casper, Wyoming. Josef was born October 21, 1929 in Weiden, Germany.
Josef was drafted into the German Army in 1944 at the age of 15, he later defected.
By trade he was an office machine sales and serviceman. He also was a member of the Elks Lodge, Salvation Army, Kiwanis, Mason, the 210th Engineer Combat Company, and the Montana Army National Guard in 1951.
Josef was survived by son, Curtis Beer of Loveland, Colorado; son Ken Beer of Meeteetse, Wyoming; son, David Beer of Cody, Wyoming; son, Wes Beer of Casper, Wyoming; sister Mana Pollman of Weiden, Germany; granddaughters, Dawnyell Avery and Dusty Haigler of Casper, Wyoming; grandson, Chad Beer of Glenrock, Wyoming; great granddaughters, Baylee Avery, Gabriella Haigler and Ilyanna Haigler of Casper, Wyoming, great grandson, Preston Haigler of Casper, Wyoming and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in Germany.
He was preceded in death by his father, Josef Beer and his mother, Karolina Griener Beer both of Germany, also a brother, Alfonse Beer of Germany.
Josef’s ashes will be interred in Weiden, Germany in der Oberpfalz .
